July 19 ~ New Attic spotted in the U.K.
Rumor has it that a new release has shown up "across the pond" that has not been officially announced by Ty. He is called Birch - the tag line is "growing old gracefully" and the style no. is 6232. He is a threadbare looking pale brown bear.

MORE NEWS: There's a mis-tagged version of the blue bear "River" showing up. It's tag name is "Huntly" with a tag line of "Oh So Sly!" Keep your eyes peeled!

July 16 ~ New Attics everywhere.
Yes, we've seen them... but we were on our way home, passing thru the Phoenix airport & couldn't pick any up! :(  I'm sure they'll arrive at UrbanTreasures.com soon!

July 3 ~ Ty news:  It looks like we're not done with the summer suprises!  Ty promises more to be revealed at the Atlanta Gift show  July 8-12.

Collectors are still reporting problems getting signed up on TyTrade - in fact it's been reported that the first-ever e-Beanie, Speckles the Bear is already SOLD OUT!.

June 24 ~   Dallas Gift Show news: Alot of excitement from the Dallas gift show today - Among the new Ty releases were 11 new Beanie Babies®, 4 new Ty Kids™ , 4 Baby Tys™, 2 Ty Classics™, 8+ new Attic Treasures ™ - including Baron™, a white bear with a brown leather zipped jacket with the Ty heart logo embroidered on the back & Mulligan™, a brown golfer bear, and many new Beanie Buddies ©.

April 6 ~ More Ty Retirement News!  Another Beanie buddy retires: Flippity the Rabbit. (Official announcement here.) When will the Attics start retiring?

March 24 ~ Ty sues Sally Winey!
Sally Winey said Thursday that Ty Inc.® has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against her bear company, Winey Bears. According to Winey, the lawsuit involves her Y2K collection and Winey Artist bears, which are versions of the design Ty purchased from her in 1994 to make its Plush bear, Sam. Winey thought she could continue to manufacture her handmade mohair bears after Ty used the pattern. The Winey bears retail for about $180.

February 15 ~ We finally received some more of the new ones: Carson, Fairchild & Harper. Some collectors are not embracing this round of Attics because they are not jointed.  I must confess I think they're really cute & they may help attract more collectors to the Attic Treasures line.

February 11 ~ Ty retired a Beanie Buddy yesterday... let's see if maybe an Attic retirement will follow. ;-)

February 8 ~ Ty just posted retailer's pricing guidelines for all Ty products. No big surprise here - $5-$7 for small, $10-$11 & up for larger ones & $8-$9 for Beanie Kids. Read the full announcement here.

Tyra re-incarnated!  Folks are reporting that Blarney is actually Tyra with a name & outfit change. Some of the Blarney's are being found with a long thread in his ear which used to hold the pom-pom bow in Tyra's "hair". There are even scattered reports of Blarney's showing up with a "Tyra hang tag.! Keep your eyes peeled... Happy Hunting!

New Attic Treasures are here!  We finally found 5 of the new Attic Treasures ^™ Releases: Darlene "Your Heart Be Glad Forever!", Rosalyne "Everything Is Coming Up Roses!", Beverly "You Have Me In A Whirlwind!", Blarney "Kiss Me, I'm Irish", and Amore "With All My Heart!". Our favorite so far is Darlene & and that seems to be the consensus from what we've heard.

We  recently received a new shipment of Cassies.  She's cute & her  velveteen outfit is adorned by a pewter button. We're expecting another shipment soon which will include a new Ivory the Bunny & more Amethyst the cat.

Tyra news: Tyra is shipping en masse in Europe - without her pompoms. At least one shipment of her got thru in Canada with her pompoms & those will be some of the rarest of the later releases no doubt. We're not holding our breath to get one... way too expensive for us.   The European Tyras are showing up on Ebay & other auctions.  Good luck!

Spruce is here!  We finally found him. We got what appears to be the "scorched ends" version. We also received more 5th-gen. Cassies with Pewter buttons. Check the store for price & availability.

Spruce update:  There are evidently two versions of Spruce showing up around the country. One is "normal" and the other has a scarf with "scorched" looking ends. ? We haven't seen either version yet but we're looking!

Tyra update:  Tyra is showing up in California now! Evidently the "Destroy" order only applies to Canadian Tyra bears. Rumor is that it's due to the tush tag not meeting Canadian legal requirements... the saga continues. 

~ November 5 ~
Tyra update:  Ty Canada has been instructed to destroy all Tyra  bears shipped to date for safety reasons!  Oh No!  Evidently a few slipped thru & made it into the market with prices currently hovering around the $500 mark.

Tyra update:  The Nebraska report of Tyra has pretty much been dismissed since the lady who claims to have bought them can't produce a photo & claims to have given them away gifts. No other dealers have received them according to the buzz on the internet. The latest rumor is that the problems with the pompoms will be solved and there will be a mass distribution before the end of the year. We'll just have to wait & see...

Curly Bears & Bunnies:  The plush bears & bunnies in the "Curly" series have been showing up around the country with the Attic Treasures hang-tags BUT theses critters have moved back to the Plush pages on the Ty website. We recently picked up a Baby Curly Bear with AT tags.

October 10 ~   Ty continues his campaign. Ty posted another progress report on his actions against retailers who don't follow his selling guidelines.  According to the posting on his website, another 125 Hallmark stores have lost their Ty accounts. Read the posting here.

October 4 ~   A retailer reports that their Ty Sales Rep has confirmed that the new "Cheerleader" Bear Tyra is indeed retired. ...and it hasn't even started hitting the shelves yet!

September 28 ~ A collector in Germany reports that the Curly bear which used to be in the Plush line but has been listed by Ty on the Attics list is now showing up in Europe with an Attic Treasures hang tag.  Read more about it here. 

September 25 ~ We found Cheri the Poodle & Waddlesworth the Penguin!

September 18 ~ We've heard a rumor that Tyra (the new Ty Cheerleader bear)  is already sold out at the distributors... this may be one to grab quickly. We still haven't seen any of the new ones & haven't heard any reports of them showing up in the stores yet.

March 21 ~ We heard a rumor that Heartly has been seen shipped with the USA sweater... hmm. We haven't seen that ourselves - will be on the lookout tho!

We just received a 5th gen Lilly with Button, and  a 5th Gen Checkers with sweater, as well as a few more "rarer" 5th gen attics. Check the store listings for more info.

February 27 ~ Another 31Mar99 retirement announcement today: Casanova the Brown Bear in Heart Sweater

February 26 ~ Surprise retirement announcement today - Skylar, who was just released on New Year's Day of this year, will retire on March 31st!!!  (For a list of other retirements announced today, check our Beanies & Buddies page.)

February 15 ~ Sharp-eyed collectors have recently spotted 7th gen tags on Scotch, Bearington, and Nicholas!!! All of these were supposedly retired last year!
